Academic Support Services

The Academic Support Services Office is located in the Paul Adrian Powell III Resource Center, along with the offices of Counseling Services and Career Services. Academic support is available to all Emory & Henry students at no charge.

Academic Support Services include: Academic Counseling, Upperclassman Mentor Program, Disability Services, Study Skill Development Workshops, Peer Tutoring, and Supplemental Instruction. Academic Support Services are available to all Emory & Henry students at no charge.

    The Powell Resource Center employs students to serve as Tutors and Supplemental Instructors (SIs) to help students who are having difficulty with a particular subject. Tutors or SIs are available for a majority of courses, and their services are free to students. More…

    The director of Academic Support Services is available to work with all students individually on a variety of academic issues.  Common topics for students who seek academic assistance include but are not limited to: time management, overcoming test anxiety, and improving skills in studying or test taking. Students may also ask for individualized assistance with any of the following workshop titles: Study Harder, Not Longer; Midterm Motivation, Take Note!; Packing More into Your Life; What did I just read?; Writing Right; The Big FREEZE; and I'll be ready to study...as soon as I find my book.
