New JSTOR Collection Added

Kelly Library has just added the Arts and Sciences V collection to our list of JSTOR online journals.

Building on disciplines in previous collections, Arts & Sciences V will widen the scope of core disciplines in the humanities, including philosophy, history, classics, religion, art and art history, and language and literature. Arts & Sciences V introduces a number of literary reviews, including The Hudson Review and The North American Review; as well as several humanities journals from Indiana University Press and the notable museum bulletins from The Museum of Modern Art, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts , Boston .

The Arts & Sciences V Collection will comprise a minimum of 120 titles upon its completion in 2009; at launch, these seven titles will be available:

*       Film History: An International Journal focuses on the historical development of the motion picture, by exploring the intersection between technology and culture;
*       The Hudson Review, an independent literary review published for nearly 60 years, includes original poetry, fiction and essays, as well as criticism on all the arts;
*       Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy is a forum for feminist philosophy, highlighting the work of women philosophers, and the latest research in the dynamic field of feminist and women's studies;
*       Journal of Folklore Research: An International Journal of Folklore and Ethnomusicology focuses on the study of "culture communicated by informal means, including oral tradition, material culture, and customary processes" with a particular focus on communication through music;
*       Journal of Modern Literature is considered the journal of record for modern literature. International in scope, recent contributors include scholars from Australia , England , France , Italy , Nigeria , Saudi Arabia , South Africa , and Spain . It is also interdisciplinary, addressing forms such as music and performing arts;
*       Research in African Literatures is considered the preeminent journal covering African literary studies today. Additionally, the journal is a pioneer in the study of postcolonial literature, tracking the connections across language, race, and continents;
*       Victorian Studies, the official journal of the North American Victorian Studies Association, is the leading interdisciplinary journal on the Victorian age tracking the influence of British culture of the Victorian era.

Other journals which have agreed to participate in Arts & Sciences V include: Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain & Ireland , The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, Classical Antiquity, and Memoirs of the American Academy in Rome .
