For the second year in a row, members of the Emory & Henry College Public Relations Office were honored by the American Advertising Federation of Southwest Virginia Addy Awards.
This year, the Public Relations Office earned silver Addy’s in the categories of digital advertising for branded video content over 60 seconds long and advertising for the arts and sciences.
Brent Treash (’01), assistant director for media relations, received his second Addy for a video celebrating the accomplishments of the retiring college president, Rosalind Reichard. The video featured students, staff, and alumni sharing their stories of the impact of President Reichard during her seven years at Emory & Henry.
Leah Prater, electronic & print publications assistant, was the recipient of the second Addy for her work on the poster promoting the Emory & Henry College Theatre Department production of “Into the Woods.” The poster features the baker and his wife as they try to reverse a curse placed on them by the neighboring witch that has left them childless. The poster includes symbolic items that represent the other children’s storybook characters they meet on their journey. Director Kelly J. G. Bremner collaborated on the design of the poster.
Emory & Henry College students, staff, and alumni were represented in 14 of the 26 awards given out at the ceremony including “Judges Choice” which was awarded to Rybe Henderson (’11) for his work on the 2013 Food City Food Show poster.
